Rotherham Workhouse Hospital
From 1838 - 1948 This page highlights the full history of Rotherham's' Workhouse Hospital before the National Health Service was established in 1948. I have only researched the workhouse hospital and I have no information of the day to day running of the rest of the Workhouse. Researching passed medical care is only a hobby and I have no medical training. My information has been gathered from a number of sources but if you have any information that may differ from the information given I would love to hear from you. Over the years the Workhouse has had a number of names including Alma Road Institution, The Mount, The General and Municipal Hospital and Moorgate Hospital.
