Masoor Masala

Ingredients

6 oz. Masoor Dal (Pink Split Lentils)
1/4 Onion
2 Cloves Garlic
1/2" cube Ginger, chopped.
1/2 Green Chilli
3 tablespoons Oil
3 teaspoons Dhania Powder
1/2 teaspoon Chilli
1/2 teaspoon Garam Masala
1/2 teaspoon Haldi Powder
2 1/2 teaspoon Salt
5 tablespoon Chopped Tinned Tomatoes
1 pint Water

Method

  1. Wash the lentils with plenty of water.
  2. Put into saucepan with all the ingredients.
  3. Bring to boil.
  4. Reduce heat and simmer for about 20-25 minutes until lentils are soft, stirring occasionally.

Dish should be of thick pouring consistency. Serve with Chappati.
